High School Engineering at Red Rocks Community College:

‚ÄčRed Rocks Community College will be offering John Hopkins University Engineering Innovation class this summer for rising juniors and seniors.
It will run between June 24th-July 19th, 2019, Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm.
Students will have hands-on labs, team projects and exciting competitions, course topics in chemical, civil, electrical, materials and mechanical engineering. There will be a John Hopkins University freshman engineering course and opportunity to earn college credit.

Bootstraps Scholarship and Loans:
Bootstraps application for scholarships are now available on their website. The deadline is January 31, 2019.
Bootstraps will have two applications this year. One is for those students intending to pursue a bachelor's degree. The other is for students pursuing vocational/career training, certification, or associate's degrees.
Executive Director, Colleen Skates, will be here January 10, 2019 at 9:00am to give a presentation on Bootstraps and answer any questions. Please have students sign up through Naviance to attend this visit.

University of California, Santa Barbara Pre-College Programs:
The Research Mentorship Program (RMP) and the Science & Engineering Research Academy (SERA) provide students with a unique opportunity to gain university-level research experience, as well as earn college credit. These programs will challenge students by exposing them to the breadth of interdisciplinary, ground-breaking research currently being conducted at UCSB. These programs are designed to help shape their academic, professional, personal and social development. This is open to qualified students ranging from 9th-11th grade.

There are 4 tracks available: Machine Learning, Marine Biology, Human Population Genetics, and International Law.

Adolesco Youth Exchange
Adolesco Youth Exchange is a short-term language and cultural exchange for kids between 9 and 18. The countries include France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Each child lives with their exchange partner's family AND takes a turn to host.

Girls Lead The Way
Girls Lead the Way leadership conference will be hosted by the Society of Women Engineers collegiate and professional sections at Colorado School of Mines. This year's theme is  "Boldly Go Where No Woman Has Gone Before," which reflects the conference's goal of empowering young women with the knowledge that they are capable of pursuing and thriving in STEM education and careers.
The Conference includes high school girls interacting with current Mines students and faculty engaging in engineering, applied math and science activities. The event will also include a majors panel where the girls will hear highlights of each major,
