Hello Cougar Families and Happy Sunday,

We’ve had an awesome Wish Week here at EHS and at this time have indeed raised the funds to send Ivy to Disneyland. We are so proud of all of those who contributed. Thank you! While here at EHS we are passionate about teaching and learning, we also hope our students pick up a little something about the values of kindness, compassion, and generosity along the way.

Thanks again for your support and we hope you’ve had a nice weekend.

Sources of Strength

The Sources of Strength program has been adopted by EHS. The mission of Sources of Strength is to prevent suicide by increasing help seeking behaviors and promoting connections between peers and caring adults. Sources of Strength moves beyond a singular focus on risk factors by utilizing an upstream approach for youth suicide prevention. This upstream and evidence-based model strengthens multiple sources of support (protective factors) around young individuals so that when times get hard they have strengths to rely on.

Peer leaders were nominated and selected in the Fall. Peer Leaders will run campaigns each month to promote the eight types of supports: Positive Friends, Mentors, Healthy Activities, Generosity, Spiritually, Medical Access, Mental Health and Family Support. The goal of the campaigns is to help all students identify the supports in their own lives. Spreading hope, help and strength is the main focus of the campaigns. EHS is hoping to grow SOS stronger and bigger every school year.
