Hello Cougar Families and Happy Sunday,

Our friends up the hill at Wilmot had a power outage on Friday, which forced them to evacuate all students to our Auditorium for a couple of hours. It's quite a thing when 362 little ones file down Main Street! Our teenagers were very kind and welcoming, greeting all the wide-eyed, smiling elementary school students and saying hello to their friends and neighbors. They even had entertainment, as our orchestra was rehearsing Christmas songs on stage for the Madrigal. I have to share the picture above, which was presented to our Campus Supervisor Dean Marticac by a kindergartner on their way out. Fridays are the best.

Thanks to all who came to our annual Madrigal Holiday Celebration on Saturday, and I'm writing this hoping our girls basketball team get the "W" against Overland. Go Cougs!

We hope everybody had a wonderful weekend,

Brandon Brekke and EHS School Leadership

Moot Court

Moot Court is an integral part of our Government and Politics curriculum at Evergreen High School, and an intense project satisfying the College Board's Civic Connection requirement. Essentially, it is an exhaustive research assignment where student teams tackle a live constitutional question and explore the myriad of complicating elements - e.g. case law, legislation, media bias, polling, special interests etc. - objective research with a conservative or liberal argument perspective.  After a semester of intense preparation, the teams then face one another in a public adversarial debate with a faculty or administrative panel. It's really remarkable what these students are able to do!

Join us for the festivities if you're available during the week of December 9-13.  Click HERE to view the REVISED schedule with topics and their times.

Services Provided by Licensed Therapists

This weeks Canyon Courier printed the first of a two part series on the crisis in our community regarding teen mental health.
Resilience1220 is a non-profit group of over 20 registered therapists who serve our community by offering any teen requesting therapy with 10 confidential FREE sessions and unlimited group sessions.

However the program has already reached capacity. While no teen will be turned away we are asking the community for support by providing financial resources to help it meet the mental health needs of our teen community.

There are two ways to contribute this year.

1. During Colorado Gives Day please go to the Evergreen Rotary Foundation tab and click to donate. After you place your donation you will be able to scroll down a list to place your donation. Find Resilience1220 and click there.
2. Go directly to the Resilience website scroll to the bottom of the homepage and hit the "donate" button.
Thank you Evergreen for helping to turn this crisis around. Every life matters and one suicide is one to many.
