Hello Cougar Families,

Before you read our weekly roundup of announcements and info, I’d like to share a few recent points of pride.

1.  Our student body co-presidents, Lily Mott and Sydnee Warren, convened and led the first meeting of our new Student Activities Council. The Student Activities Council is comprised of leaders from all areas of EHS – Athletics, Activities and Clubs, Performing Arts, Academic organizations, etc. The purpose of this group is to coordinate efforts, initiatives, and events across our school community to increase student awareness, participation and support of all-things EHS. Ultimately, the group would like to impact culture by promoting collaboration and Cougar spirit. Well done gals!

2.  Bravo to our Performing Arts and Drama departments for their highly-acclaimed series of performances last week and weekend. You Can’t Take It With You was such an impressive effort on all fronts, and also one of the most hilarious performances I’ve seen our students put on. I took my mom to see the play last Thursday evening, and I swear she did not stop continuously laughing until at least intermission. Thanks to the Cast, Crew and Mr. Ogle!

3.  I’m pleased to announce that one of our own, Stephanie Seevers, has received the “Outstanding Earth Science Teacher” award from the National Association of Geoscience Teachers for 2018. NAGT is a national organization that promotes and disseminates best practices in Earth science education. A heartfelt congratulations, Stephanie, on behalf of all your colleagues here at EHS!
