The EHS Weekly Messenger will be featuring information and updates from the Evergreen High School Education Foundation. The EHSEF has served our school community for over a decade now, and has been instrumental in funding much of the technology that currently exists at EHS. The mission of this group, however, extends beyond technology to include the support of teacher training and tools for classroom use. Some recent examples include:

• Sending two EHS faculty members to a premier education conference in March of 2019.
• Support of the technological and curricular needs of the new-look EHS Business Program.

Without the efforts of this group, EHS would simply not be as successful as we are. Please consider financially supporting the Evergreen High School Education Foundation by donating HERE.

The EHSEF will be seeking new board members for the 2019/2020 school year! If interested, please contact EHSF Board President Dan O’Neil at [email protected] or 303-332-8170.

PTA

Dear Junior and Senior Parents and Students of Evergreen High School,

It’s almost that time of year when we start our fundraising for After Prom. However, the purpose of this letter is not to ask for a donation but to inform you of the discontinuation of the parent-sponsored After Prom party. Attendance the last few years at After Prom has been declining. The 2018 After Prom was visited by 231 students but only 14 students stayed after the first 25 minutes of the event. This event cost the community $6,000.00. We are grateful to our community in raising these funds to support our children. Even though we have tried year after year to encourage the students to stay at the After Prom, we just can’t seem to interest enough students. After many discussions with PTSA, EHS administration, and a survey that solicited input from students, it has been decided that we will not host an After Prom this year. Again, we are very grateful to our parent and PTSA volunteers for their effort on this behalf.

Sincerely,

Evergreen High School PTSA

Thank you SO much to our amazing PTSA and our fabulous parent community for providing such a wonderful spread during conferences.  The nacho bar was delicious and there were an abundance of drinks and homemade desserts to enjoy.  Thanks again for all you do for our teachers and students.

Peace Jam

PeaceJam is an international organization, founded and headquartered in Arvada, Colorado, whose mission is "to create young leaders committed to positive change in themselves, their communities, and the world through the inspiration of Nobel Peace Laureates who pass on the spirit, skills, and wisdom they embody.”

Students present a project, or idea for a project ,as part of the Billion Acts of Peace Campaign.

PeaceJam's spring conference will be held on March 16 & 17. Rigoberta Menchú Tum, 1992 Nobel Peace Prize Winner from Guatemala, will be at Red Rocks Community College to meet and work with students.
