Girls Lead the Way Leadership Conference
Join EHS Key Club on December 14th at 7pm in the EHS Auditorium for a screening of Bending the Arc! Bending the Arc is a documentary about a team of young people—Paul Farmer, Jim Yong Kim, Ophelia Dahl—whose charitable medical work, 30 years ago, ignited a global health movement. Their goal was simple but daring: to make high quality health care available to everyone, even in the world’s poorest countries. Fighting entrenched diseases, political and bureaucratic machinery, and the existing charity and medical establishments, these crusaders took their fight from the village to the world stage, to ensure that health care is a right for all, and that geography should not determine destiny.
Bending the Arc chronicles their journey as they started Partners in Health, an organization the works to bring modern medicine to under-served communities across the globe. $5 donation is suggested; all money raised goes to Partners in Health.

Athletics & Activites
Madrigal Faire
The Madrigal Faire was held last Saturday at EHS. I brought my oldest daughter to see this event. As we walked down main street, we could tell that this was going to be something special. It did not disappoint! As we walked into the commons, the marketplace was filled with activity. Several students were performing a short act with singing and joviality abound. As we walked through the marketplace (actually squeezed through, as it was wall to wall with parents, students, performers, and staff), I was struck by a sense of community and togetherness. The positivity in the environment was palpable. Upon announcement of the upcoming 3:00 p.m. concert, we moved into the auditorium for an hour long holiday performance, a collaboration between our combined choirs, band, and orchestra. My daughter and I were front and center in the third row and marveled at the incredible spirit and beauty that filled the auditorium. What talent, what preparation, what a great event to showcase our amazing community! Thanks to Ms. Carpenter, Mr. Cruse, our parent volunteers, our student performers, and all the community members that took time out of their day to join in one of the finest events I have been to during my 17 years in education.
