In their free-time, students visited Universal Studios, met the thousands of other DECA members, and enjoyed beautiful Orlando.

Weekly Sport Highlights

Girls Soccer

We are so proud of our lady cougars as they advanced to the state final championship game this past Wednesday.  Training hard all season, our lady cougars were well prepared and ready to battle Cheyenne Mountain. Cheyenne Mountain ended up winning 2-1.  There is no reason to be disappointed as our girls soccer team has had an incredible season. With great leadership from Coach Jeans and his staff, our girls soccer team had a lot of fun this season, while still competing at a top level.  Congratulations on a great season girls!!!

Baseball

Congratulations to our baseball team for a great season!  The team finished 3rd in the conference with an overall record of 14-10 this season.  They made it to the playoffs and battled Silver Creek last Saturday. They lost to Silver Creek, 8-2, but the positivity and morale coming out of this season was apparent as Coach Lipka and Mr. Ramaker addressed the boys in their post game huddle.  We are excited for what the future brings to our baseball program. Well done gentlemen! Also, thanks to the entire coaching staff and parents for their support throughout the season!

Girls Golf

Much thanks to Coach Malpass and her staff for a wonderful season!  Coach Malpass, in her first year as our girls golf coach, led our lady cougars to a 5th place tie at the CHSAA 4A State Girls Golf Championship at Pelican Lakes Golf Course in Windsor.  The Championship was shortened to a one-day 18 hole event due to several inches of snow and cold temperatures on Tuesday. Evergreen was led by Sophomore Riley Roberts, who shot 93 on the 5782 yard Par 72 course. Senior Kate Lisle shot 94 and Junior Lainey Urbas had a 105.

The Cougars had their best overall team finish at State in the past 10 years.  This has been an exciting year, as we are building our program for many years of success to come!

Track and Field

Congratulations to our hard working coaching staff and all of our dedicated track and field athletes.  I am out on the field almost daily after school and I was so impressed with the effort and training that our track and field teams conducted on a daily basis.  So impressive! I look forward to another great track and field season next spring! Finally, congratulations to Lanie Szuch who broke the EHS school record in the 3200 race.  Lanie ended 9th in the 1600 and 10th in the 3200 at the State meet on Friday.

Boys Swim and Dive

We are so proud of our boys swim and dive team and much thanks to Coach Hudd and Coach Armstrong.  We couldn’t have done it without you! After much training and a successful regular season, our cougars ended up 8th place at state last weekend.  Congratulations gentlemen! You have a lot to be proud of!

Boys LAX

We are very proud of our boys LAX team as they made it into the second round of playoffs!  With a big win over Aspen on the road in the first round of playoffs, our boys lacrosse team had to play last year’s state champs, Cheyenne Mountain, in the second round.  On the road, our cougars fell to Cheyenne Mountain, 13-6. The team finished the season with a lot to be proud of and lots to look forward to next season. Thanks to Coach Egger and his entire coaching staff and parent volunteers for an amazing season.  See you next year!

Girls LAX

Congratulations to our girls LAX team for a great season!  With one of the best records in the conference and state, our girls LAX team got a first round bye in the playoffs.  They faced Fairview at home and came back from a 6-2 deficit, to tie Fairview 6-6. In the final few minutes of the game, Fairview scored and our lady cougars fell to Fairview, 7-6.  Nothing to be disappointed about though! Our girls LAX team had a great season and left the field with a positive attitude and great momentum into the off season! Thanks to Coach Sanford and her staff for a great season and their commitment to our lacrosse program.
